About Dogpile

What is Metasearch?

Metasearch means instead of getting results from one search engine, you'll be getting the best combined results from a variety of engines, and not just any engines, but industry leading engines like Google and Yahoo!. Who knew one search engine could do so much? We did. In fact, we published a study about how little search results overlap across the various search engines (less than 1%) and how metasearch provides a better Web search experience. Click here for full study.

Don't take our word for it. Dogpile was ranked highest in customer satisfaction by J.D. Powers and Associates in 2006 and 2007. Dogpile is easy to use, providing better results with more coverage of the Web, and you don’t need an advanced degree to make it work. All you do is enter your search and click "Go Fetch!". The great results will take care of themselves! Search more engines, get the best results from more of the Web and do it all easily. That's what metasearch is all about!

Does Dogpile include paid listings with search results?

Yes. Dogpile's results include sponsored (paid) listings for some keywords. Results are always listed in order of relevance, so if a sponsored listing is thought to be a good match for your search, it will be returned. Sponsored listings are always clearly marked with a "Sponsored" label or similar designation to make it clear when a sponsored result is being returned.

How does IntelliFind™ work?

IntelliFind™ helps to bring you the most relevant results quickly and easily. IntelliFind™ compares your search term to data from top media content providers. Based on the overall popularity of what you entered in the search box, the tool then tries to match it to things like movie titles, musician names, or seasonal items and recommends relevant matching content.
