By 1997 Dogpile was fanning your queries out across the giants of the early web — Lycos, WebCrawler, AltaVista, Excite, HotBot — plus Yellow Pages and the usenets. One search, every corner of the net.
1999
Acquired by Go2net
Dogpile joins Go2net, lining up alongside MetaCrawler under one roof at the height of the metasearch boom.
2000
InfoSpace era begins
InfoSpace acquires Dogpile and gives the site a fresh design facelift for the new century.
2006 & 2007
J.D. Power award — back-to-back
Dogpile earns the J.D. Power and Associates award for Best Residential Online Search Engine Service two years running — recognition for actually helping people find stuff.
2008
Search and Rescue with Petfinder
Dogpile teams up with Petfinder on the “Search and Rescue” program, raising over $100,000 for animals in need.

New owners, same Dogpile
OpenMail (later renamed System1) acquires Dogpile, keeping the search engine running for the people who love it.
